    Press Release Espanol

    Mother Lode Community,

I hope you are healthy and well. As you may be aware, the Governor and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction held a press conference this afternoon recommending extending the school closure and moving to distance learning through the end of the school year. After a Zoom meeting with all of the superintendents in the county, we have decided to extend school closure and are moving to distance learning through the end of the school year. Please see the Press Release attached.

School closure does not mean the end of teaching and learning for our students.

The paper packets you provided are/were learning opportunities March 17-April 3 as we were getting Chromebooks out to families and allowing you, our teachers and staff to get ready to transition to provide distance learning- Google Classroom. We also know that some students/families still need paper packets. Our goal is to make paper packets our last option.

If you have not signed up or picked up a Chromebook, it is not too late. We will be at Indian Creek between 11 am and 1 pm tomorrow 4/2 checking out Chromebooks, and handing out the last of the learning opportunity paper packets.

Let us remember we are all in this together!

Stay healthy and safe! Please share with me how you have been CREATIVE, CURIOUS and KIND!

    Superintendent Marcy Guthrie

When calling in an absence for your child, please explain the reason why he/she is not at school. Without a reason, your child will have an unexcused absence on his/her attendance.

    Thank you!

    About Us

Indian Creek Elementary is located in Placerville, California, 32 miles east of Sacramento, in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Indian Creek is located adjacent to the El Dorado County Office of Education near the intersection of Missouri Flat Road and Green Valley Road. The beautifully manicured landscape, gorgeous trees, and student gardens make our school an inviting place to learn. The office, equipped with an old-fashioned school bell, faces the visitors’ parking lot and welcomes everyone.
